Today’s chat is a very special one, connecting with us all the
way from London! We can’t wait for you to join today’s chat with
Yorgo Lykouria! Yorgo Lykouria is the Creative Director at
Rainlight. Yorgo leads Rainlight’s London design studio. In his
early years as an architect working in Airports and high-rises,
Yorgo became the youngest design director at Helmut Jahn’s office
in Chicago. In 2002, he established the award-winning London
studio, Lykouria, which he ran for 12 years as a multidisciplinary
practice. Yorgo’s broad spectrum of practice includes architecture,
design, and filmmaking. He is recognized for his work in automotive
interiors for Ferrari, and various works for Vitra, Akaba, Alape,
and Dornbracht. His recent design partnerships with Rainlight
include collaborations with Allsteel, Arcadia, Tecno, Scavolini,
Okamura, and Zumtobel. He poured into the chat his journey starting
in engineering to architecture and now industrial design, and the
challenges he faced as an emerging designer, and tangible tips for
us navigating similar things! From sharing his thoughts on
Pinterest and creativity, trusting your instincts, navigating
uncertainty, sustainability, and design thinking, these are just a
few things we covered!
